DERNIE TO JOIN TOYOTA
Frank Dernie is to join Toyota as a senior advisor to the team. Dernie was most recently a special projects engineer at Williams but left earlier this year after four years with the team.

SPYKER TEST B-SPEC CAR
Spyker are testing their B-spec F8-VII at the pre-Italian Grand Prix test in Monza today. The car was originally to have raced at the Turkish GP but failed an FIA crash test. The car should make its race debut at the Italian GP.

BRIATORE READY TO BUY QPR?
Renault F1 team principal Flavio Briatore is set to buy Queens Park Rangers football team. The Sun newspaper has reported that Briatore will wipe out QPR's debt of 17 million pounds and is to invest an extra 100 million pounds over the next three years.

Speaking on the official F1 website, Midland boss Alex Shnaider has said that he would be willing to help the Spyker team if needs must. Spyker currently owe Shnaider another payment as part of the take over agreement. However, Shnaider is confident this will be paid.

McLaren are set to go ahead with their appeal against the penalty handed to them after qualifying at the Hungarian GP. The team were not allowed to score constructors points and Alonso was demoted from pole to 6th place on the grid.

Silverstone has been given the approval for a £25m redevelopment plan that will see new grandstands, pit and paddock facilities, a science park, a manufacturers' test centre, hotel and conference centre and new homes being built.
