The FIA World Motor Sport Council have ratified the change in name for the Spyker team to become Force India from 2008. Indian businessman Vijay Mallya recently bought the team and announced the name change in Brazil.

BOURDAIS WINS FOURTH CHAMP CAR TITLE
Newman Haas Lanigan Racing driver Sebastien Bourdais has won his fourth Champ Car World Series title after winning the race in Surfer's Paradise. Bourdais will take part in one more Champ Car race before he heads to F1 with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2008.

MCLAREN FINED FOR TYRE MISTAKE
McLaren have breached tyre rules on Lewis Hamilton's car during today's first Practice at Interlagos, and have been fined 15,000 euros by Race Stewards. Honda and Super Aguri have also fallen foul of the same ruling with Jenson Button and Takuma Sato.

TORO ROSSO LOSE APPEAL
The FIA International Court of Appeal has rejected Scuderia Toro Rosso's appeal against Vitantonio Liuzzi's penalty at the Japanese Grand Prix. Liuzzi was given a 25-second penalty for overtaking Sutil under yellow flags. Toro Rosso accepted the FIA decision.
