PAUL STODDART TO LODGE CHAMP CAR ENTRY
Minardi F1x2 team owner Paul Stoddart is in the early stages of creating a Champ Car team that could be on the grid as early as 2007. If the deal went ahead it would be supported by former Minardi sponsor, Muermens Group. The group currently supports Jan Heylen in Champ Car.

McLaren's Juan Pablo Montoya has turned his back on Formula One next year and has joined Chip Ganassi's NASCAR team. Montoya, whose options for an F1 seat next season were limited, won the 1999 CART FedEx World Series with the Ganassi Champ Car team.

The mother of Sutton Images Formula One photographers Keith and Mark Sutton passed away peacefully at Northampton General Hospital on July 7th. Along with her husband Maurice Sutton they were the intial driving force and support to the Sutton Brothers when they started the company twenty-six years ago .

The F1 commission has voted out the running of Friday third cars starting from the beginning of next season. The move is a step in revamping a GP weekend with Friday as a test day and Saturday being official practice and qualifying day. The move will also help to reduce in-season testing.
