HEIDFELD OUT PACES PIZZONIA Nick Heidfeld and Antonio Pizzonia went head-to-head in a driver shoot-out yesterday to decide who will take the second seat at Williams. Heidfeld won the contest, finishing 0.3 second ahead of his rival. Williams will announce their driver line-up next Monday.

| JORDAN AND MIDLAND GROUP SIGN CONTRACT Jordan Grand Prix and the Midland Group have signed a contract concerning the takeover of the F1 team. MCLAREN INVESTIGATE RAIKKONEN ALLEGATIONS Reports in a British Sunday tabloid newspaper that Kimi Raikkonen was thrown out of a London nightclub for alleged bad behaviour are being investigated by McLaren. He has been appointed President of the FIA Institute For Motor Sport Safety. Gary Hartstein MD, who has assisted Professor Watkins since 1997, has been appointed as his replacement.
